Travel to Brazil

There has been a lot of talk of BRIC, and the rising economic importance of Brazil. I am about to graduate college with a degree in International Business and I am considering moving to Brazil for a year to learn Portuguese so that I can do international business between the United States and Brazil. Do these international business opportunities exist and what are they? And is worth the investment to learn Portuguese?

My husband is from Brazil and we are currently in the process of getting his paperwork done so he can get a green card. He has acquired an international drivers license through an insurance company… is this legit? It says that the IDL must be accompanied with his original drivers license- though his Brazilian DL has expired and we only have a photo copy… Is there an option at the DMV where he can get something standard- or will he have to have a social security?
